Each person experiences grief differently. It is a process and not one that can be ignored. It has to be faced head on in order to go from sustainable to living your best life.
I started Focus Forward Today in 2020. I did so after the passing of my husband. I completed the therapy grief processing program offered by the hospice my husband spent his final days in. I was immediately drawn to helping people in pain. What I found was that the therapist helped during the early stages of grief to get you from Non sustainable to sustainable. But I needed more of the everyday grief coaching that therapy didn't provide.
I completed my certification in Grief Coaching with Dora Carpenter of the Institute of Professional Grief Coaching. I then completed a certification for implementing programs for Grief in the Workplace. It is my joy to help people through their journey of grief to living their best lives.
At Focus Forward Today, we believe that building a strong and supportive community is key to living the best life possible. Helping a person mend a broken heart due to loss is a step-by-step process. It requires a personalized program development that matches the unique situation a grieving person is experiencing.
We arrange for a free consultation at which time we will discuss your loss, what you are experiencing, what if any other coaching you have done, and what we can do to help you. It is during this appointment that we get to know one another.
Most Importantly-
GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO GRIEVE
The grief program consists of 5-6 sessions after the consultation. Sometimes the progress allows for less sessions but more times the sessions exceed the five. Each meeting is a minimum of 60 minutes and can go up to 2 hours. This is all predicated on you and how you are feeling. Meetings are conducted privately or with someone you would like to be part of the journey.
Unresolved grief is grief that has not allowed a person to live their best life. It consists of emotions that lie in wait for the first vulnerable moment a person experiences and then it comes out full throttle. It comes in many forms, can arise weeks, months or even years after the passing. Addressing the unresolved grief will allow a person to heal completely. Most times a person does not know they have this type of grief, and a coach can help them discover it and fix it.
Grief in the Workplace costs corporations big and small a lot of money per year. Having a program designed to match your needs and implemented by Focus Forward Today, a certified grief program instructor, will help in getting the grieving employee the support they need and show the entire workforce the caring you have for them as their leader.
This program allows for personalized coaching. Experiencing grief is a very personal experience. You will receive the 100% attention to you and your feelings with help navigating the grief process. Each session is a minimum of 60 minutes and up to 2 hours. The program is a package of 5 sessions plus 1 free consultation. It is billed as each session is completed.
This program was created for a group setting. The first meeting is for 1 hour and is the get to know each other session and is at no charge. The group will then meet twice a month for 1 to 2hours for the first 4 sessions and then once a month for 3 more sessions. Each session is geared to the grief process with exercises that are done with the group as a whole. This program has many advantages. First you are with people who are all grieving, but maybe in different stages of the process. Second you are able to get multiple prospectives and ideas from all the members of the group. In this group program there is also an added bonus of incorporating some life coaching along the way. This program is implemented every 6 weeks. There is a nominal fee for the program which is paid when signing on after the initial meeting session.
As a Certified Grief in the Workplace instructor, I help companies create and implement a grief program for employees to utilize after the loss of a loved one. It is a fact that millions of dollars are lost in company revenue because employees are not able to function to capacity after a loss. The program is first created with direct impute from management and then Focus Forward Today will provide training sessions for the employees that will be directly responsible for overseeing the program within the company. Many companies also implement the Full Grief Program for their employees as a fringe benefit.
